VINYL CLASSICS - EAST SIDE STORY VOLUMES 1-12

East Side Story is a collection of twelve volumes of classic oldies. Soul, doo wop and the East Side Sound are well represented in this amazing collection.
It's hard to trace all the different releases but I believe it first appeared on vinyl LPs in 1987 on the Macola label. It was also released on cassette by Trojan Music Co.and 8-Track tape. It also appeared on vinyl on the Trenton label. The vinyl LPs and cassettes were in my opinion of poor quality.
The discs were remastered and released on compact disc on the East Side label in 1997. They changed the track list from the originals but the sound quality is far superior. In 2002 they were released as a twelve volume box set.
The original vinyl releases and the 8-track tapes have become collector's pieces and are much harder to find.
Whatever format you can find them in, they are surely worth having.

    1. I am sorry I do not have any more information. Since none of the labels that this series has been released on has an address or phone number, I have to assume that an actual collector or collectors out these out.
One commentator says they are out of the San Jose area.
The CDs which are available on Amazon are produced by the ESD Guy I believe is a collector or bootlegger.
