HOMEMADE COMPILATIONS - PURA RAZA AZTLAN VOLUME 1

I picked this one up for five bucks from a street vendor while roaming Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park. Turned out to be the best five bucks I've ever spent.
Released in 2000 on PRA Records and printed in Spain (gotta be a homemade compilation), this CD features 23 tracks of pure Chicano Soul. The Eastside Sound is well represented here with Willie G, Thee Midniters, Salas Brothers & Perez Brothers. Also included is the Westside Sound with likes of Sunny & The Sunglows and the Royal Jesters.
Track for track it's hard to find a disc with so many great tunes. If you don't have a copy I recommend you hunt one down. I still see copies avalable at auction & set sale prices.

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED!!

Soley for historical, educational and listening pleasure.

  1. Hey Thanks for the post. This is a righteous compilation and of course No Infringement Intendent. Great line-up of historic and important songs/musicians from East LA from the 1960's. Your "Volume 2" is a firme follow-up. Keep up the good jale, ese. Lookin' good!

  3. These were never released on vinyl. Volume 1 is on CD & the best way to find it is on e-bay. Volume 2 is a homemade compilation I made myself from my record collection
