The group began performing at local venues including El Monte Legion Stadium. Billy Cardenas took the group to Eddie Davis where they recorded "Where Lovers Go" and "Discover A Lover" which were released in 1965 on the Faro label (Faro 618). The Mari Paniagua written instrumental "Where Lovers Go" (inspired by Santo & Johnny's "Sleep Walk") did very well on local radio.

The Jaguars would also back the Salas Brothers on their singles releases.
