This is a two volume encyclopedia set which I have recently added to my recommended reading list. Published by Greenwood Press and edited by Cordelia Chavez Candelaria, Arturo J. Aldama, Peter J. Garcia and Alma Alvarez-Smith in 2004. There are a wide range of entries and it gives you an insight into noted people and cultural issues.
